The Passage provides resources to encourage, inspire and challenge people who have or are experiencing homelessness, to transform their lives. Working in Victoria, Westminster (London) where the concentration of people sleeping rough is at its highest in the UK, the work we do is vital. Our Resource Centre offers a wide range of facilities to those who are experiencing homelessness, whilst also offering support to those who are at risk of becoming street homeless. We have three accommodation projects offering a safe place to call home for those with complex needs, or to those who are in the process of finding a sustainable route off the streets. We are a voice for change and advocate for those who often feel their voice is not heard. The Passage takes its values and ethos from the teachings and example of St Vincent De Paul, a Christian and social reformer, who co-founded the Daughters of Charity in 1633. Vincent believed in action rather than words and in hands-on service to vulnerable people. Our Vincentian values drive everything that we do. • We assist homeless people to realise their own potential to transform their lives. • We act with compassion and kindness. • We are a voice for change and justice. • We build relationships based on trust. • We respect each other. • We are straightforward in all our dealings. • We believe in practical hands-on hard work. • We collaborate across all sectors of society.
