The Pittsburgh Foundation is a longstanding philanthropic organization that manages endowment funds established by individuals, businesses, and organizations to support charitable giving in the Pittsburgh region. Founded in 1945, it is among the nation’s oldest community foundations and ranks as the 15th largest of more than 750 such foundations. In May 2026, it announced that William Generett Jr. will become president and CEO, assuming the role on August 1, 2026, indicating a leadership transition.
