In 1996 Kurt Stricker left his family bakery to bake pet treats.  Keeping with the same concept and ingredients, he developed several recipes using only the finest ingredients.  Since then the business has grown substantially and we are now operating out of a 220,000 square foot facility in Harvard, Illinois.   

Today, The Pound Bakery is proud to offer pet treats and foods that are safely formulated and baked right here in the heartland of America.  

In 2017, The Pound Bakery also expanded its offerings to help fill a need in the market and for our customers. We now offer online marketing services, website design, product photography, graphic design, and fulfillment services for pet businesses as well.
