The Presidential Precinct operates in international affairs by engaging and developing emerging leaders to address pressing challenges in their home countries. It offers professional fellowships, leadership exchanges, global forums, and virtual resources across six focus areas, including women's empowerment, economic opportunity, good governance, human rights and justice, cultural heritage, and civic engagement. Since its programs began, more than 1,500 leaders from over 170 countries have participated and returned to apply their knowledge and networks to meaningful change.

Based in Charlottesville, Virginia, the organization sits at the center of a five-member consortium that includes the University of Virginia, William & Mary, and three historic sites: Montpelier, Highland, and Monticello. It maintains close relationships with the U.S. Department of State and Virginia communities, forming a strategic network to empower communities globally. In September 2023, Toyosi Ogunseye was appointed president and CEO, reflecting a recent leadership update as the precinct continues to broaden its engagement with virtual and in-person programs.
