The Renfrew Center is a mental health care provider based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, focused on treating eating disorders. Established in 1985, it was the first residential facility dedicated to eating disorder treatment in the United States and has grown to operate 15 locations nationwide. Over the years, it has helped more than 100,000 individuals, including cisgender adolescent girls and adult women, as well as transgender and non-binary people, move toward recovery from conditions such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder. Its treatment programs span residential care, day treatment, intensive outpatient, outpatient, and virtual services. All levels of care are built on The Renfrew Center Unified Treatment Model for Eating Disorders, an evidence-based, emotion-focused approach that addresses eating disorders and related mental health symptoms, with both individual and group therapies augmented by a range of additional services. The center accepts most major insurances and is a preferred provider for all levels of treatment.
