The Seed Farm is a nonprofit organization dedicated to cultivating the next generation of farmers. Most new farmers did not grow up on farms and therefore lack access to land, training, capital, and networks that are necessary for successful farm start-up. The Seed Farm breaks down these barriers to farm entry through a New Farmer Training Program and Agricultural Incubator. Our training program provides new farmers with valuable, practical experience and skills in production, marketing, and business planning. An ag incubator offers new farmers the opportunity to launch sustainable farm businesses on our 42-acre site in Emmaus, PA. Incubator farmers have access to land, equipment, infrastructure, and mentoring during the risky and expensive first few years of farm ownership. The Seed Farm also offers workshops, tours and events that are open to farmers, gardeners, and other community members. From rain barrel construction to equipment demonstrations to customized lessons for school groups, The Seed Farm serves as a hub for hands-on agricultural education in the Lehigh Valley.
