The Shubert Organization is America's oldest professional theatre company and the largest owner of Broadway theatres, with a long history of producing and presenting theatre in New York City and across the United States. It currently owns and operates seventeen Broadway theatres and six off-Broadway venues, and is led by Chairman Philip J. Smith and President Robert E. Wankel. Its ticketing operation provides sales services through the Telecharge platform and multiple distribution channels, including box offices, call centers, and third-party agents, supported by brands such as Telecharge, Broadway Inbound, and Plum Benefits. The Shubert Foundation, the sole shareholder of The Shubert Organization, Inc., provides general operating support to not-for-profit theatres and dance companies, and the Foundation also oversees the Shubert Archive. In 2026, the organization acquired Sardi's, a historic 44th Street restaurant, indicating an expansion of its footprint beyond theatre properties.
