The Spring of Tampa Bay is a public-safety nonprofit based in Tampa, Florida, serving Hillsborough County. Since its founding in 1977, it has helped more than 60,000 abused adults and their children by providing sanctuary and a range of support services, and it is a Department of Children and Families-certified domestic violence center—one of Florida's largest among the state's 42 certified centers—and the first in the United States to operate an accredited on-site school for resident children. Its mission centers on preventing domestic violence, protecting victims, and promoting lasting change in lives, families, and communities. Its programs follow an empowerment-based philosophy designed to offer a safe refuge, time to heal, and options so survivors can pursue a self-determined, peaceful path, with all services provided at no charge. Its focus is on victims and their families, delivering services and raising awareness to reduce domestic violence in the community.
