The Tournament is a United States–based organizer of open-to-all, high-stakes sporting events with a global footprint, founded in 2014. Its flagship event, The Basketball Tournament (TBT), has crowned twelve champions and awarded more than $15 million in prizes, while introducing innovations such as the Elam Ending and a postgame bracket celebration later adopted by the NBA and NCAA. TBT games air live on Fox Sports, and in 2023 the company expanded into soccer with The Soccer Tournament (TST), a million-dollar, winner-take-all 7v7 world championship run as a 32-team World Cup-style bracket on NBC/Peacock and featuring teams from around the world, including clubs from the English Premier League and Bundesliga. Since then, TST has grown the field for men to 48 teams in 2024 and added an eight-team women’s tournament with a $1 million prize; in 2025 the women’s bracket expanded to 16 teams. TST attendance rose 23% year over year to 51,730 in 2025, and the Soccer Tournament has been carried on ESPN platforms since 2024; in May 2025 The Tournament hired Cliff Alexander.
