The WasteShed is Chicago's creative reuse center. We collect reusable art, school, and office supplies that would otherwise be thrown away, and make them available to teachers, artists, and the general public at low prices. Our goals are to be an abundant resource for the city's creative and educational communities, to engage the public around issues of sustainability, and to divert cool stuff away from landfills and into projects great and small. We put an average of 50 tons of materials, with an estimated value of $450,000, back into the community every year.

We opened in September of 2014 in the Humboldt Park neighborhood of Chicago.
