The Wilderness Society (TWS) is a United States-based non-profit conservation organization focused on protecting wild places and public lands to benefit local communities, wildlife, and the climate. Founded in 1935, it has grown to include more than one million members and supporters and has contributed to the permanent protection of 111 million acres of wilderness and to the sound management of public lands.
