The Young People’s Project, Inc (YPP) is a mid-sized organization based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, focused on education administration programs. It develops students aged 8-22 from traditionally marginalized populations by expanding their roles as learners, teachers, leaders, and organizers. The work centers on math and STEM literacy, community-building, and advocacy, with the aim of creating a network of young people who can navigate life’s circumstances, participate actively in their communities, and advocate for education reform in America. YPP collaborates with local schools and national partners to extend its approach beyond its base. In December 2025, it announced a partnership with Illustrative Mathematics to bring its student-led math-learning model into classrooms and communities nationwide, and it was designated an Illustrative Mathematics Certified Partner. In May 2026, YPP announced collaborations with the Cambridge STEAM Initiative, Cambridge Public Schools, and the Cambridge Women’s Commission to host the 10th annual National Flagway Tournament and Math Playground at the MIT Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center on May 16, 2026.
