The Zoo Bar is a blues-focused entertainment venue and nightclub located in downtown Lincoln, Nebraska. Housed in a building dating to 1921, the club follows a style inspired by Chicago blues venues and occupies a long, narrow space. Its ownership has tracked a multi-decade arc: it was purchased around 1971 by Jim Ludwig, Bill Kennedy and Don Chamberlin, with promoter Larry Boehmer booking the first band in 1973 and becoming sole owner by 1977; in 2000 Boehmer handed the bar to Jeff Boehmer and Pete Watters, who remain partners.
