The Thomas E. Smith Foundation is a catalyst for transformative change in the lives of those living with paralysis. Our mission is to advance comprehensive and compassionate care for those living by paralysis. Rooted in decades of innovative leadership and lived experience, our focus is on developing meaningful programs, investing in groundbreaking research, and advocating for equitable access to care. Founded in 2010 by Thomas Smith after becoming one of the first person in medical history to sustain multiple (separate) spinal cord injuries, TESF is driven by a powerful mission. Thomasβ story exemplifies what our core values summarize: access, resilience, and a passion for creating positive change. Realizing the inequitable access to essential equipment and rehabilitation for individuals with SCI and paralysis, Thomas and his friend, Tucker Mullin, established TESF to address these critical needs. Despite 15 years of impact as an organization, we are just getting started. We invite you to stay connected to learn more about our work and to get involved by supporting our mission. Together, we envision a future with improved accessibility and inclusivity for all, and one day, a cure for paralysis ππ
