TAG launched an industry when it introduced the specialty of workplace violence prevention in 1987 and, in 1993, presented the first formal training in the field.  Drawing on the values and scientific findings of medicine, psychiatry, psychology, public health, and criminology, TAG’s philosophy—Safety First, Fairness Second—has led to innovations that are now industry standards:  the cross-functional team approach, early intervention, safe and fair reporting and tracking, and customized training for individual corporate audiences.
