Threat Spectrum works with private individuals and businesses at increased risk of targeting for burglary, home invasion, kidnapping, or murder such as prominent corporate executives, pharmacists, attorneys, crypto-currency investors, jewelers, and firearm dealers.  Each client is profiled for threat identification; home, office, vehicle, and IT network locations are surveyed for target hardening; the individual person is target hardened through development of a curriculum of reading material, situational awareness skills development training, reality-based martial arts, gun fighting, anti-kidnapping, evasive driving, and disaster preparedness.

Threat Spectrum Inc. began in 2009 as a developer of robotics intellectual property.  Obsidian Drive is a suite of patents and proprietary technology comprising a robotic chassis and rotary drive for positioning applications that require enhanced survivability to impacts, vibration, thermal extremes, dust, moisture, and electromagnetic hazards common in the dangerous and dirty jobs.  Obsidian Drive has double-digit patents granted in US, Japan, Korea, UK, and Germany.  This technology was originally being brought to market as the Oppressor® STAR Platform, a robotic electro-optic sensor system used for surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance for military, intelligence, law enforcement, and secure facility operators, but as of 2025 is being monetized by seeking licensing opportunities.  With unprecedented design effort devoted towards MIL-STD-810G environmental protection, Oppressor is a compact, mid-range pan-tilt gimbal designed to be the best in class land-based tactical ISR sensor system for transport by small, forward deployed teams.
