This is not the cookie-cutter, same-as-a-million-others place to bank. Trailhead Federal Credit Union was founded in 1935 when eleven employees from Portland Gas and Coke decided to pool their money to form a financial cooperative. These founding members encouraged other gas company employees to deposit their money into the Credit Union so that their co-workers who needed to borrow, could do so at a reasonable rate. Unlike a bank, the profits of Trailhead are returned to our members in the form of better rates and lower fees. Today, Trailhead continues to serve NW Natural employees and their families, as well as anyone who lives works, or goes to school in Multnomah County, Oregon. As we embrace the “small enough to know better” mantra, we work to guide each member on their individualized path to financial success. We believe in Portland, our hometown, and the unique people who live here. So we embrace their individuality — and work to help them succeed.
