Travel Alberta serves as the Government of Alberta’s destination management organization, aiming to promote the province as a place to travel, work, live, play, invest and learn. Working with businesses across the province, it develops experiences that highlight Alberta’s landscapes and hospitality for visitors across all regions and seasons. Based in Calgary, Alberta, the organization is a mid-sized Crown corporation established on April 1, 2009 and operates under the Travel Alberta Act within the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Tourism. Its activities target the broad network of tourism-related businesses and other industries that benefit from visitors, with the goal of increasing visitation, diversifying the economy, creating jobs, attracting investment, and enhancing Albertans’ quality of life. In 2025, Travel Alberta is partnering with Destination Canada to design seasonal marketing campaigns and to host a global tourism media event in Jasper, reflecting continued collaboration to attract international visitors.
