The Travelers Championship is Connecticut’s largest annual professional sporting event and the region’s only PGA TOUR stop in the Northeast. The event takes place at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell and serves as an economic anchor for the state and surrounding communities. It donates all net proceeds to charity each year and provides a platform for charitable partners to advance their missions. The organization is based in Hartford, Connecticut, and operates with a relatively small staff. Founded in 1952, it has a long history of contributing to the local community, with more than $59 million donated since inception. In 2025, Camp Courant partnered with the Travelers Championship to participate in the Birdies for Charity program, a collaboration aimed at boosting mission funding.
