Treatment Action Group (TAG) is a nonprofit research and policy organization based in New York City. It operates as an independent, activist, and community-driven think tank focused on advancing equity across race, gender, and LGBTQ+ lines and on ending HIV, tuberculosis, and hepatitis C. TAG seeks to accelerate the discovery, development, and global dissemination of safe diagnostics, preventives, and cures, while supporting public health systems that reduce harm and uphold human rights. The organization traces its origins to ACT UP and began in 1992 as a nonprofit focused on speeding treatment research. In 2025, TAG formed collaborations with OpenWHO and the World Health Organization to gather community perspectives on long-acting injectables for TB and to cohost a related webinar.
