Troutlodge operates as the trout production arm of Hendrix Genetics, focusing on genetics and the supply of eyed rainbow trout eggs. It is described as a leading entity in trout genetics and a major supplier, producing, selling, and shipping nearly 500 million eggs annually to more than 60 countries from facilities in Washington, Idaho, and the Isle of Man. The company uses genetic and genomic technologies to improve breeding programs, aiming to enhance hatch-out rates, feed conversion, growth, and disease resistance. Broodstock are independently tested and eggs are internationally certified specific pathogen-free, with weekly supply of both all-female and triploid rainbow trout eggs year-round. 

Based in Washington state, Troutlodge serves aquaculture producers with logistics, technical support, and bespoke packaging to help maximize profitability through high-quality genetics. In December 2024, Kasper Janssen was named R&D Director for its Salmonids business unit.
