Tun Abdul Razak Research Centre (TARRC) operates as the United Kingdom–based arm of the Malaysian Rubber Board, conducting research and providing consultancy in rubber and elastomeric materials. Through its Rubber Consultants unit, it offers development and testing services for rubber products and related elastomeric systems, including work for the pharmaceutical industry and biotechnological applications, with particular focus on extractables and leachables, PAH testing, tyre testing to VCA standards, and analyses for nitrosamines, nitrosatable amines and latex proteins. The centre serves customers in the rubber and elastomer sectors, supporting material validation, safety assessment, and regulatory compliance. Based in Brickendon Liberty, England, the centre traces its origins to 1938 when it was established as the British Rubber Producers' Research Centre in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, and it adopted the TARRC name in 1996 after a series of redesignations. The organisation maintains a longstanding focus on rubber research and testing capabilities. In 2024, TARRC partnered with Environmental Engineering Partnership to develop anti-seismic elastomeric devices for structural vibration control.
