O Turismo de Portugal é a Autoridade Turística Nacional responsável pela promoção, valorização e sustentabilidade da atividade turística, agregando numa única entidade todas as competências institucionais relativas à dinamização do turismo, desde a oferta à procura.

A missão do Turismo de Portugal consiste em:
- Coordenar a promoção de Portugal como destino turístico;
- Qualificar e desenvolver as infraestruturas turísticas; 
- Apoiar o investimento no setor; 
- Desenvolver a formação de recursos humanos;  
- Regular e fiscalizar os jogos de fortuna e azar.

Com uma relação privilegiada com as outras entidades públicas e os agentes económicos no país e no estrangeiro, o Turismo de Portugal está empenhado em cumprir o desígnio de reforçar o turismo como um dos motores de crescimento da economia portuguesa.
