The longest continuously operating charter school in the St. Vrain Valley School District (SVVSD), Twin Peaks was established in the fall of 1997 by a group of dedicated parents who wanted a richer, more academically rigorous educational opportunity for their children. Twin Peaks Charter Academy is a K-12 school within the local St. Vrain School District. Our school strives to provide a safe, controlled and truly productive learning environment (much more like what we were privileged to experience as children). However, the primary difference between us and the mainstream public schools is that our focus is on classical education and character development. We don't teach to the test. We follow the time-tested classical curriculum, and we teach the children to reason and apply what they're learning. And another notable difference (critical to student success), is that parent engagement is not only suggested, but required. Twin Peaks Charter Academy is a public school that is governed by a seven member Board of Directors. The school's board is elected by parents of the school during annual elections. The school's administration is responsible for daily operations. Mission Twin Peaks Charter Academy provides students with the foundations of virtue and character, building cultural literacy through a rigorous, content-rich curriculum in an encouraging environment.
