The curriculum covers topics such as clinical research informatics, electronic health records, simulation and modeling, clinical decision support, security and privacy, personal and mobile health, imaging and geographic information systems, and public health and population health, providing access to a broad range of systems and data at the health-technology interface. Based in Sacramento, California, the program sits within UC Davis and benefits from the university’s health system and its data assets, including a health system serving about 2.5 million patients. Graduates enter a variety of sectors—including universities, medical facilities, industry and government—filling roles such as faculty, researchers, engineers, and policy professionals, with mentorship from a lead research professor and an academic advisor guiding research and degree progression and offering research or teaching assistantship opportunities.
