Unique Railroad Contractors began over a quarter of a century ago offering railroad services by the late founders Douglas Krause and Bruce P. Krause.  In 1983 two men with a dream of starting a private railroad construction company began with a tractor, a few sledge hammers, and whole lot of pride in their commitment to excellence.  With hard work and much sweat equity the company grew into what is now known as Krause Brother’s Construction.  In 2010 their brother Roger Krause, who has been a dedicated employee of the company since the beginning, began his endeavor as Chief Executive Officer.  
With our fleet of trucks, ultra-modern equipment for preparation and site work, extreme state-of-the-art aggregate equipment, synchronized shipping and service department and easy access pit locations, we are able to facilitate our customers with their projects of any size, from small residential landscaping jobs to colossal infrastructure projects. 
Our aggregate service commitment in Northeast South Dakota produces and provides sand and rock products from our Veblen, South Dakota location to our wonderful customers in South Dakota.  The Southeast location constructs mainly gravel, clay, a select accessibility of rock products to our regional markets and our committed customers of North Dakota.  We also have a pit located in Rollag, Minnesota that is currently not in operation.
