Unison Networks designs, builds, and runs the electricity distribution network that serves the Hawke’s Bay, Taupō, and Rotorua regions in New Zealand. Its network spans nearly 9,000 kilometers and provides electricity to more than 119,000 connected customers, delivering about 1,590 gigawatt-hours annually. It is one of the larger electricity distribution operators in the country. Having operated for more than a century, Unison is wholly owned by the Hawke’s Bay Power Consumers’ Trust. The head office is in Hastings, Hawke’s Bay, and contracting services operate from depots in Taupō, Rotorua, Tauranga, and Dunedin, with the Dunedin team also serving the Aurora Energy network. In 2025, Unison partnered with Sustainability Options Limited to support the 20 Degrees programme for Rotorua whānau.
