United Egg Producers is a farmer cooperative based in Johns Creek, Georgia, that represents egg producers in legislative, regulatory, and advocacy efforts affecting egg production. It operates the UEP Certified program, established in 2002 to set hen-well-being standards backed by decades of research, with farms volunteering for independent audits. Today, more than 85 percent of eggs produced in the United States come from farms that participate in UEP Certified.
