United Way of Greater Charlottesville is a nonprofit organization that identifies community needs, convenes those closest to the issues, and collaborates on solutions to help people in its area thrive. Through its ENVISION initiative, the organization focuses on three priorities: advancing economic stability for local families, individuals, and small businesses; expanding access to high-quality early care and education; and mobilizing volunteers and partners to build a stronger, more vibrant community. Headquartered in Charlottesville, Virginia, the group serves the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Nelson, and Orange. In addition, it leads Ready Region Blue Ridge activities, extending its reach to 14 other cities and counties in the Shenandoah Valley, from Staunton and Augusta County to Winchester and Frederick County. The organization operates with a small-to-mid-sized staff.
