The Valparaiso University was founded in 1981 and at that time it was one of the most important branches of the Chile University in regions, it is a state education institution, autonomous and certified, its tradition comes from 1911 when the Fiscal Law Class was created in Valparaiso, which is where our Lawfaculty started. In this university we develop activities of education, research and extension in all the 9 faculties; we have 41 undergraduate programs and 32 postgraduate programs,in order to satisfy completely its 18 thousand students and the necessities and interests of the country and mainly of the Valparaiso region. Based on the essential principles of freedom, democracy and pluralism, this university is committed with the development of the culture, trying to integrate sciences, arts, and humanities, using its history and incorporating the new scientific findings, contributing to the evolution and progress of the society.
