University Hospitals Avon Rehabilitation Hospital is a freestanding inpatient rehabilitation facility operated as a joint venture between University Hospitals and Kindred Healthcare. It offers 50 beds for acute inpatient rehabilitation and serves patients aged 16 and older who have experienced conditions such as stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, multiple trauma, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, Guillain-Barré syndrome, hip fracture, amputation, burns, and other orthopedic or neurological disorders. The program emphasizes intensive rehabilitation to help individuals recover functional abilities and daily living skills. It is a two-story, 58,000-square-foot facility located on eight acres in Avon, Ohio, near University Hospitals Avon Health Center and with access to Interstate 90. The hospital is certified by The Joint Commission and provides three hours of therapy per day, five days a week, as part of its rehabilitation regimen. As a joint venture with Kindred, the hospital operates within the University Hospitals network, aligning with its standards for patient care and coordination.
