The University of Arkansas at Monticello is a public higher education institution based in Monticello, Arkansas, and part of a southeast Arkansas system of postsecondary schools. Its mission centers on teaching, research, and public service to meet students' needs and serve the regional community. In 2026 it launched the UAM-CTM Digital Literacy Program in collaboration with Digitunity and AT&T, a step toward expanding community access to digital skills and education. UAM works to widen access to affordable higher education in eastern Arkansas through partnerships, notably with Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas to expand four-year degree pathways. The institution employs a few hundred staff and serves a regional student population, aiming to support workforce development and lifelong learning.
