The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is the largest academic health center in the Rocky Mountain region, based in Aurora, Colorado. It integrates the health professional schools, more than 60 centers and institutes, and two independent hospitals—the UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital and Children's Hospital Colorado. Collectively, these facilities handle nearly 2.6 million adult and pediatric patient visits each year. The campus supports advances in science, medicine, education and patient care through extensive, collaborative research activity. The campus serves students, clinicians and patients, as well as partner organizations, by providing professional training and a wide range of patient services. In 2026, the campus announced the launch of a three-year MD program intended to address physician shortages and reduce training costs.
