The U.S. Center for SafeSport operates as an independent national nonprofit within the spectator sports sector, dedicated to addressing and preventing emotional, physical, and sexual misconduct and abuse in the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Movement. In addition to handling abuse concerns, it serves as an educational resource for sports organizations at all levels, from recreational to professional. The organization was established in 2017 by Congressional mandate and has expanded its reach to include staff across nearly 30 states, with a base in Denver, Colorado. Its core mission is to respond to and prevent misconduct, and it maintains channels for reporting concerns within the Olympic and Paralympic community. In February 2026, Benita Fitzgerald Mosley, an Olympic gold medalist, was appointed chief executive officer.
