Valley Family Center (VFC) was founded in 1987 with the mission to provide counseling and educational services that facilitate personal growth, strengthen the family unit, and protect human dignity for all persons in need.

    To achieve the mission, Valley Family Center provides individual, couple and family therapy, coordinated services for victims, children, and perpetrators of domestic violence and parenting education.

    The Testing and Assessment Program helps screen and identify learning disabilities or psychological needs in children and adults so that they can get timely intervention and treatment through VFC and our partners.

    The Learning Center provides tutoring and academic support for at-risk youth. VFC also provides school counseling services for children and their families at a local elementary school. Last year, Valley Family Center served over 2,500 unduplicated clients through on-site programs, outreach and education.

    Valley Family Center is a non-profit, non-sectarian, 501 (c) 3 organization that is committed to making its services accessible to the low-income community of the San Fernando Valley who could not afford these services otherwise. Culturally competent programs are provided in English and Spanish. All program fees are based on a sliding scale, according to the ability to pay.
