Vasil Levski Sofia Airport is the largest airport in Bulgaria, located in Sofia. Since April 2021, SOF Connect has been entrusted with managing the airport under a 35-year concession, with Meridiam as the main shareholder and Munich Airport acting as the operator to share expertise for the transformation. The concession aims to develop and modernize the facility by applying high standards in services and facilities, supporting the capital’s air-transport role and broader regional activity. In the 2021/2022 summer timetable, the airport offered flights to 80 destinations in Europe and the Middle East, served by 27 airlines. The airport is accessible to passengers via a subway station and the 84 and 184 bus lines, and sits roughly 10 km east of the city centre. Recent developments include asset investments such as a transport centre, and, in late 2025, the initiation of a pre-qualification process for a new Terminal 3 and related works, including forecourt and modernization of Terminal 2.
