In 2005, two Floridian real estate & development families, recognized signs of a housing catastrophe, through the over-inflated home values, which was caused by risky mortgage products and lax lending standards.  For five generations the families were real estate leaders in Central Florida, specifically Polk County,  and wanted to use their eminence in the industry as a platform to warn locals of the upcoming crisis.  Two of the families great grandsons desired to establish a beacon for all homeowners, that would stand tall when other financial companies would collapse.  In 2006, Vertical Lending was founded, as a licensed mortgage lender, to provide a higher lending standard.  As predicted, Vertical Lending stood tall while most other home lending institutions fell.
