Veterans Green Jobs is a small nonprofit based in Denver, Colorado, operating in the environmental services sector. It historically connected veterans with employment opportunities in environmental and energy fields and delivered residential energy-efficiency services to residents in the region. In 2014, after losing a state contract, the organization ceased all program activities, reduced outreach to veterans, withdrew from weatherization work for low-income households, and discontinued fee-for-service HVAC services, and began operating with limited staff in a primarily virtual capacity. This status reflected a shift away from on-the-ground program delivery, with services in the Denver and Jefferson counties no longer provided under the organization’s activities. The organization remains a nonprofit entity based in Denver, maintaining a presence in the region through its website, but its operational scope has been greatly reduced.
