VGI Energy Solutions is a small renewable energy developer based in Chicago, Illinois. It focuses on delivering solar infrastructure, battery storage, and community microgrids to urban neighborhoods that have historically been excluded from the clean energy transition. Through these projects, the company supports locally managed energy systems that enhance resilience and access to modern energy solutions. Its flagship Bronzeville Community Microgrid was chosen from more than 83 competitive proposals to design, own, construct, and maintain the solar generation infrastructure for what the U.S. Department of Energy designated America's first Community of the Future. Currently, it is developing The CLIC (Climate Leadership & Innovation Center), a community-driven clean energy campus in Englewood, Chicago, featuring a 500 kW solar installation, battery storage, workforce training, and a Community Benefits Agreement intended to ensure direct resident impact.
