Vibe's Mission Statement is to "Empower Portland's Underserved Youth Through Art & Music; Inspiring the next generation of creative leaders". Vibe partners with local public schools and community service providers to bring quality arts and music educational and culturally responsive programming to Title One and historically underserved schools throughout the Portland Metro Area. During the 2019-20 school year, Vibe worked with twelve schools in the Parkrose, David Douglas and Portland Public School districts. Our educational philosophy does not adhere to a strict type of curriculum, but rather takes the needs and best learning practices of the different student populations we work with into account. This makes for a fluid and successful variety of programs we offer. Since Portland's youngest generation has no consistent avenue for arts education, especially in lower economic neighborhoods, Vibe bridges that gap to provide consistent quality arts educational experiences for ALL kids in Portland- regardless of their background.
