Victory Briefs started in 1991 as a company that provided topic-specific brief books to Lincoln Douglas debaters. Throughout the 1990's Victory Briefs built a large base of loyal coaches and teachers who use our products as both competitive and classroom resources. Over time, our book offerings have expanded into policy debate, extemporaneous speaking, and guide general philosophy and winning strategies.

Today, Victory Briefs is easily one of the most recognized names in high school forensics. Between holding the nation's largest debate institute, hosting an octafinal level bid tournament, and providing news and commentary, Victory Briefs has grown from a dorm-room operation at Stanford University to a network of nearly 100 educators working to provide students with superior educational and competitive resources.

Despite this growth, Victory Briefs remains committed to providing access and opportunity to all students, coaches and parents. The emergence of using the Internet as a viable media has given Victory Briefs the ability to not only grow its institute (VBI) into the largest debate institute in history, but to also run a network of websites which provide many free resources to students, parents, teachers, and administrators. This commitment means that over the past 11 years, Victory Briefs has provided thousands of dollars worth of Internet resources and over $500,000 in scholarships to our summer institutes.
