Virginia Sea Grant (VASG) is a higher education program based in Gloucester Point, Virginia, that works to enhance the resilience and sustainability of Virginia’s coastal and marine ecosystems and the communities that rely on them. It serves as a conduit for scientific information, collaborating with resource managers, businesses, communities, and other stakeholders to provide and apply rigorous science to address regional and national coastal and ocean issues through research, public outreach, engagement, and education. As part of NOAA’s Sea Grant College Program, VASG operates within a network of 33 programs, funded through federal and state appropriations and project-specific contributions from local partners.
