Washington Interactive Network is a new 501c3 nonprofit, and is housed under the umbrella of OneRedmond. WIN is a proven cluster-focused economic development program with the purpose to grow the interactive media industry cluster in Washington State. At the center of the City of Redmond’s Innovation Partnership Zone for Interactive Media and Digital Arts, WIN’s programs have supported the growth has helped to create over 3,000 jobs and over $400 million in economic impact in the Puget Sound Region. Started as an economic development program 10 years ago, WIN was the first cluster-based economic development initiative of its kind in the country. With the dual focus of economic and workforce development, one of the keys to success is about being the hub of partnerships with Industry, Education, Entrepreneurs and Executives. This concentration of activity provides opportunities to cross-pollinate ideas within the industry cluster, spawn new company growth, as well as work to develop the regional talent pool. The organization assists in attracting and integrating private and public partners to the cluster projects; helps to create and expand relationships with education to help increase employment from our local schools; and is responsible for strategic planning, cluster development, and economic impact studies and cluster analysis. Established in 2004, the purpose of WIN is to promote Washington State as a hub for Interactive Media, nurture educational institutions, and grow the Interactive Media workforce in our region. WIN began as a program of the State of Washington and later moved on to receive support at the Economic Development Council of Seattle and King County. Today WIN is housed with OneRedmond and WIN serves as an umbrella for the regional Interactive Media industry.
