Based in Olympia, Washington, the Association of Washington Business is a mid-sized nonprofit founded in 1904, and it stands as the state’s oldest and largest statewide business organization. It functions as both the state’s chamber of commerce and the manufacturing and technology association, and it carries a distinguished accreditation from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The organization serves more than 8,000 members representing about 700,000 employees, including large employers like Boeing, Microsoft, and Weyerhaeuser, while the majority are smaller firms. AWB acts as the principal advocate for employers in the legislative and regulatory arena, pursuing regulatory reforms, tax incentives, and agency-efficiency improvements to foster a favorable business climate.

In 2026 the association expanded its activities by engaging StratACUMEN to analyze the state’s regulatory landscape and identify opportunities for improvement.
