Water Corporation, based at 629 Newcastle Street in Leederville, Western Australia, is the principal provider of water, wastewater, and drainage services in the state, serving hundreds of thousands of homes, businesses, and farms and supplying bulk water for irrigation. The organization operates across more than 2.6 million square kilometres and maintains regional offices in Perth, Bunbury, Albany, Karratha, Geraldton, Northam and Kalgoorlie to support service delivery. It is government-owned and accountable to the Minister for Water, with most of its surplus returned to the government as a dividend and the remainder reinvested in capital works. The Water Corporation was created in January 1996 as part of a restructure of Western Australia's water industry, with predecessor entities tracing back to the 1985 Water Authority formed from the Metropolitan Water Authority and the water and wastewater operations of the WA Public Works Department. Its vision emphasizes minimizing environmental impact, ensuring safety for all, and delivering services at the lowest total cost.
