Waterford Institute is a nonprofit research center based in Sandy, Utah, focused on creating personalized, cloud-based instruction for children from PreK through second grade. Its portfolio includes Waterford Early Learning for K-2 literacy, mathematics, and science; Waterford SmartStart for PreK; Waterford UPSTART available as an at-home readiness program; Waterford Classroom Advantage offering teacher-facing tools for digital boards; and Curriculet, an independent reading program. Waterford's adaptive learning system arranges thousands of activities, books, and songs in a unique sequence for each child to support growth. The approach supports early readers, those who struggle, English learners, and students in Special Education, and Waterford is certified as an Autism Resource by IBCCES. The offerings can serve as core curriculum or as a supplement and can be delivered individually, in small groups, or to a whole class. A recent development includes a partnership with the Davis School District to bring Waterford Upstart to PreK students, expanding access in the region.
