Willem II is a Dutch football club in the spectator sports industry, based in Tilburg, North Brabant, Netherlands. The club was founded on 12 August 1896 by Gerard de Ruiter, initially named Tilburgia, and later renamed Willem II in honor of King Willem II, who had historical ties to Tilburg. Willem II joined the Brabantse Voetbalbond in its early years and became a member of the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) in 1904.
