WEAC is a Wisconsin-based organization that represents the public policy, labor and professional interests of educators and related education professionals. It serves as a collective voice for the state's public schools and the roughly 865,000 children they educate, and it operates within the broader National Education Association network. Its membership includes public school teachers, counselors, library media specialists, education support staff in K-12, Wisconsin Technical College System faculty and staff, active retired members, and university students training to become educators. In its role within education administration programs, WEAC advocates for policies and conditions that affect teaching and learning and the professional environment for educators. The organization participates in statewide activities and initiatives, such as annual Representative Assemblies, and has launched programs like the Safe and Healthy Schools Plan in 2022; it also collaborates with higher education institutions, as seen in the 2021 partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point to support Educators Rising Wisconsin. A recent development includes WEAC’s involvement in the 2026 Representative Assembly held in Oshkosh, where an award was presented to a member.
