Woodfield Inc. is a trucking company that began in 1988 in the small town of Camden, AR by Jimmy and Kathy Starr. After graduating High School from Camden Harmony Grove in May of 1973, he started hauling wood around the state of Arkansas for the International Paper Mill. He drove for 10 years over-the-road for Steel Haulers for one week at a time driving up and down from the Midwest. After his second child was born, he sold his one and only truck to be closer to home and lead his family. In 1988, he bought an 18-wheeler which started the company that they have today. As of 2025, Jimmy and Kathy Starr own 115 18-wheelers and have 150 employees that work either as a driver, a shop mechanic, or in the shop. Woodfield Inc. is a small company but has a lot of heart. We have 3 different trucking divisions that drivers can choose from depending on experience. Our most recent division, Safe Transfer provides the highest service to our nation's military. You are required to have at least 2 years of experience and be over the age 23. Our Flatbed drivers travel an average of 350 miles from shipper to receiver and are gone for only one week at a time. Van drivers cover approximately half of the Eastern United States. They can be gone for up to 12 days at a time but make the most money out of all these divisions. Woodfield Inc. is well known for excellent on time delivery and great customer service. Their main business strategy is to provide a steady level of service across all our customers and keep the same margins regardless of the current market conditions. Woodfield’s target market is varied amongst refrigerators, paper, and everything in between. Jimmy and Kathy have provided many jobs for Southern Arkansas and most of America. All three of their children run some part of the company and even own a few of there own trucks. This family owned company has prospered over the years and so have their drivers.
