The World Energy Council is a long-standing non-profit network uniting energy leaders and practitioners from governments, private and state enterprises, academia, and civil society. Based in London, England, it pursues its Humanising Energy vision to broaden participation and accelerate clean and just energy transitions across regions. Since its founding in 1923, the council has grown into a global platform with thousands of member organisations and operations in nearly 100 countries, and it convenes leadership dialogues such as the World Energy Congress. It provides practical tools to support energy transitions, including a framework to define priorities and guide the management of transition, and it informs local, regional, and global energy agendas. Its activities connect a wide range of stakeholders to advance impact programmes and address shared energy challenges. In 2026 it launched the World Energy Issues Monitor at the 14th China Clean Energy Expo in Beijing, reflecting ongoing policy and transition work.
